Dear CA-SBC Teachers,
The main competition for both Classic and Xtreme has come to an end. Playoff teams are determined based on being top of their industry and having a participation rate of 50% or more.

Updates such as Playoff teams and information regarding Playoff Dates and Times will be listed here.
Registering your teams for playoffs is simple: Sign into your teacher account, you will see "Playoff Registration" as an option in the left hand blue menu. Teams who have made it to the playoffs will appear and you simply have to click "Accept". The deadline to do so is Monday November 21st at 4pm.

CA-SBC is pleased to announce that we will have a new feature in place for the CA-SBC Playoffs and Finals which will be taking place on November 24th (Classic Playoffs) and November 25th (Xtreme Playoffs) and December 9th (CA-SBC Finals for both Classic and Xtreme). For more information, check our Dates and Deadlines page under our "Information" tab. Firms will be able to make loan repayments on loans that are created as they play. They will be able to make payments at increments of 10 percent. For more information, check out our How to Play page and Terminology page under the "Information" tab. Have questions? Welcome back to another exciting term of CA-SBC kindly sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAO)! We look forward to working with you to provide a free (and fun) tool to help students understand business concepts.
CA-SBC Registration is open until September 23rd at 9pm. Make sure to create classes and teams (by doing so, your students will be registered for the student practice rounds taking place from September 19th to September 23rd)! A tutorial is available in the 'Information' section of our page.
CA - SBC would like to remind teachers who have participated in the past that they DO NOT have to create a new CA - SBC teacher account to participate in CA - SBC Fall 2011. Teachers who have registered an account in the past may use the same account to register their classes for CA - SB Fall 2011 and thus do not need the registration code.
If you have an account, but do not remember your login information, please use the 'forgot password' link on the login page or send us an email at sbc@sprott.carleton.ca. If your email, other contact information, or even school information has changed since you last participated, you can still use the same account. You can login to your account to update your information or email CA - SBC and we will assist you with this process.
New teachers to CA - SBC must create a teacher account and DO need the registration code. To request the registration code, please contact CA - SBC via the code request page of the website. Dear CA-SBC participants, The teacher and student practice rounds will run during the week of September 19 to September 23rd with two inputs, due on Tuesday and Friday at 4pm. Register now!
For Teacher Practice Rounds: Simply sign into your teacher account and select Teacher Practice from the left hand menu and check off the box next to "I would like to participate in the teacher practice round".
For Student Practice Rounds: Create classes and teams from the left hand menu in the teacher account and your students will be registered for the student practice round!

Dear CA-SBC participants, Playoff registration is open from November 17 at 9am to November 21st at 4pm. What do you have to do? Sign into your teacher account, go to "Playoff Registration" from the left hand menu and accept those teams as participants of playoffs. It's a simple click so don't delay!

Dear CA-SBC participants, The first input is due on Tuesday September 27th at 4pm. Make sure that your inputs have been submitted by then. How will you know? A message in green will show up confirming that your inputs have been submitted. If you do not see this message, your inputs have not been submitted yet.
Tips: Use Internet Explorer For each box, backspace over the existing numbers and then type in the values you wish to submit.

CA – SBC winning teams will be chosen based on their shareholder’s equity and their participation level (must be greater than 50%). The top team from each industry is invited to move on. For details, please review the Rules & Regulations page.

For those who have not yet, please remember that if you have played CA - SBC in the past and already have a teacher account with us, you DO NOT need to create another. You may use your current account to login and begin registering classes and teams. If you have an account but are unable to remember your username or password, please contact us and we will have that information sent to you. There is still time for teachers to register their classes for the main competition. The deadline is February 25th at 9:00pm ET.

| New Rules for Winter 2011 |

Please note that as of Jan 1st, 2011, CA-SBC will require that all teams eligible for the CA-SBC Finals MUST attend the finals IN PERSON in either Ottawa or Toronto in order to participate. Teams will be reimbursed up to $400 for travel to either location.

| Playoffs Schedule |

Registration of winning teams will close on Tuesday, November 30th at 4pm (ET).
The first two playoff rounds will be run online with a quarter passing approximately every 10-15 minutes. Students will be granted an hour and a half lunch break between 11:30 - 1:00pm between the morning qualifying rounds and afternoon semi-finals. Winners of playoff rounds will be announced on the News page of the CA – SBC website soon after the completion of each round.
Playoff dates for each game level are below (you and your students participate on one date based on the game level). Winners of the Qualifying Rounds will go on to compete in the semi-finals, and possibly the finals, to take place on the following dates:
Dec 2:
Classic Qualifying Rounds, 9:00 - 11:30am ET
Classic Semi-Finals, 1:00 – 3:30pm ET
Dec 3:
Xtreme Qualifying Rounds, 9:00 - 11:30am ET
Xtreme Semi-finals 1:00 – 3:30pm ET
Dec 10:
Classic & Xtreme Finals at CARLETON UNIVERSITY in OTTAWA
Finals Competition will take place 10:00am – 12:30pm ET (Please plan for a 9:30am arrival at Carleton). Lunch & Awards Presentation, 12:30 – 2:30pm. Some compensation will be provided for travel to teams coming from outside the Ottawa area. Please contact us for details.
NOTE: There are separate competitions for the Classic and Xtreme game levels. Classic & Xtreme teams never compete against each other.

TEACHERS - You MUST APPROVE your teams for participation in the playoffs next week!
To do so, login to your teacher account and select the 'playoff registration' page from the left hand menu. Next enter the number of students on the team and select 'Accept'.
If your teams are not approved, they WILL NOT be included in the playoff rounds. Please approve your teams ASAP! Teams not approved by the end of the day on November 30th will NOT be included in the playoff rounds starting Dec 2nd & 3rd.
Please note that preliminary playoff rounds will take place ONLINE. Students compete remotely from their schools. There will be an on-campus finals event this year at Carleton University on December 10th.
